On October 3, 2008, a Friday morning, there was a break in the 20" water main in the middle of Hacienda Rd, at Avocado Crest.
Those on scene reported that the street was raised by the pressure of the water.
Hacienda was closed to through traffic, with Firefighters directing cars.
Later in the day, the Sheriff's Department closed Hacienda Rd to through traffic at the Buddhist temple, only letting residents through.
La Habra Police Dept assisted in traffic control.
Workers welded the hole in the pipe, and filled in the hole.
Residents on Hacienda and surrounding hillsides enjoyed the quiet while the road was closed.
(Hacienda Rd was closed for the month of August 2001 when it was repaved. )
The road reopened Saturday night, October 4.
